CSZ Test Chambers Used by GM for Chevy Bolt EV

Cincinnati Sub-Zero and GM have had a relationship since the beginning of their electric vehicle development with the Chevy Volt. Now, we are proud to know that the developments made by GM for their electric vehicle program is continuing with their Bolt EV lineup. We value this relationship and are also proud that we were able to play an important role in the testing they do to make their products safe and reliable.

Arguably, one of the most important innovative development made by the GM engineers on the electric vehicle program is the design and development of a suitable battery pack that can safely support a long-range vehicle. Until the development of the Bolt EV, few manufacturers have been able to develop an electric vehicle that has a range of 200 miles on a single charge.

This is where the Bolt EV shines. Its estimated range on a single charge is around 238 miles. What makes the Bolt unique, however, is that it is the first vehicle that has a price of around $30,000 (after US Governmental tax credits for electric vehicles).

While the Bolt EV is the first electric vehicle to approach this price point, with a range of over 200 miles per charge, there is no doubt that many more are on the horizon. The demand for test chambers designed specifically for battery testing has already begun to rise. At CSZ we are happy to be in the forefront of this technological push.
