Case Study: Custom Walk-In Temperature & Humidity Chamber for Flight Electronics Testing

A leading aerospace and defense manufacturer needed a custom environmental test chamber capable of rapid temperature and humidity cycling while supporting large flight electronics and high operating heat loads. The system also needed the flexibility to accommodate future test programs with larger components and increased performance requirements.
 
A custom 900 cu. ft. welded walk-in temperature and humidity chamber was developed to meet these requirements. The system combines rapid thermal transition rates up to 5°C/min, advanced humidity control technologies, and integrated moisture management for consistent environmental conditions across demanding test profiles. An LN₂ boost coil provides additional capability for accelerated thermal transitions and future testing requirements, while a mezzanine-mounted refrigeration configuration maximizes valuable facility floor space. Designed to support large test articles, high heat loads, and evolving qualification programs, the chamber provides a scalable solution for aerospace environmental testing.
