Sub-Zero (CSZ) receives many applications from customers requiring
their product to be tested at -40°C. All test chamber
manufactures currently recommend a chamber with a cascade
refrigeration system in order to consistently test their product
at -40°C. Responding to our customers' needs, CSZ designed
the Revolutionary Tundra® refrigeration system. Unlike
conventional single stage systems that can only efficiently
test product to -34°C, the new patented Tundra® system
can efficiently test product to -45°C. A cascade refrigeration
system is no longer required for customers to test their product
at this temperature.
Copeland pioneered the development of scroll compressors
for the HVAC/R industry and is the only manufacturer of refrigeration
scroll compressors in the U.S. today. CSZ is also the only
chamber manufacturer approved by Copeland to utilize scroll
technology in this unique refrigeration system. By using scroll
technology in our refrigeration system design, the Tundra®
delivers greater reliability and efficiency with quieter operation.
