Compact Test Chambers now include Touch Screen Controller

CSZ has exciting news for those thermally testing small products. The MicroClimate product line, which includes a
1.2 cu. ft. benchtop model and a
3 cu. ft. upright model, now features the
new EZT-430i touch screen controller loaded with features to simplify test chamber programming & operation. These features include:
- Selectable navigation between icon-based menus like a smart phone or windows-based navigation
- Remote Control & Monitoring via Ethernet
- Data logging with customized files
- Integrated email sends data files directly from the controller with a touch of a button
- Data file access via memory stick or PC
- Alarm notification via email or phone text message
- Data file backup
- Full system security
- Configured in 28 different languages
New Mild Temperature Range Benchtop Model

A
new single stage benchtop model has been added to the MicroClimate product line. Prior to this release, the product line only included a benchtop model with a temperature range from -73°C to +190°C. Due to the multiple requests of customers that seldom need to test their product down to these cold temperature ranges, CSZ designed a model with a more mild temperature range from -30°C to +190°C. All models are available with or without humidity.
CSZ Broadens Capabilities

CSZ introduces its latest piece of equipment, an Amada sheet metal laser. Installed and running as of December 30, 2012, CSZ’s capabilities have expanded. The laser will allow for improved specifications, faster cutting times and continued growth.
“CSZ prides itself on being able to complete every stage of production in-house. Until recently, however, the company had been limited on the size of sheet metal that could be cut, 10ft. long by 5 ft. wide maximum. Now operating, as large as 13 ft. long by 7 ft. wide, CSZ is able to cut down on welding and offer a broader range of chamber sizes,” says Operations and Facilities Manager, Alan Scott. In addition to sizes, there are also many other added benefits. Throughput will dramatically increase, flexibility with custom orders will improve and thicker materials can be used.
The purchase of the laser was vital for CSZ’s growth, with sales, especially for large Walk-In chambers, climbing over the last two years. A broader range of options allows CSZ to meet building demands and continue to provide world class temperature management solutions for their customers.
NEW for 2013
CSZ is making some exciting new changes for 2013. We are updating our product lines with a fresh new look and enhanced aesthetics. First, the change in texture from a rough powder surface to a smoother texture will make it easier to clean and show less dirt. Also, the current dark gray accent color is shifting to blue across the product lines. We will begin shipping
Z-Plus, MicroClimate, thermal shock and HALT & HASS product lines with the Beige/Blue look on new orders placed the beginning January 2013. Please email
indsales@cszinc.com with any questions or comments. See photo below for the new look!

CSZ Road Show in China and S. Korea

CSZ presented a series of seminars across China on “Mitigating Risks when Testing Batteries in Environmental Test Chambers”. The seminars were held June 18-21 in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen with over 210 customers in attendence. Bitrode who provides battery cycles along with A&D who delivers custom test and simulation software solutions also presented.
This same seminars series was also held in South Korea on June 15th with over 183 people in attendence.
Cincinnati Sub-Zero Acquires HALT & HASS Systems Corporation
JULY 6, 2011, CINCINNATI, OH. Cincinnati Sub-Zero (CSZ) Products, Inc. is pleased to announce the asset acquisition of HALT & HASS Systems Corporation (HHSC) of Denver, Colorado. The HHSC product line will be assimilated into CSZ’s Industrial Division which will manage ongoing product development, marketing, manufacturing, sales and service activities. The addition of HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Tests) and HASS (Highly Accelerated Stress Screens) test systems will further broaden CSZ’s extensive product line and provide its customers with another state of the art tool to help shorten new product development time, decrease production and warranty costs and significantly improve product reliability.
Currently in use by most major manufacturing organizations, HALT and HASS chambers provide extreme temperature & vibration capabilities used during the product design and manufacturing cycles to compress the time normally required to identify design and process weaknesses. HALT techniques are important in uncovering many of the weak links inherent to the design and fabrication process of a new product. HASS techniques are incorporated during the production phase to find manufacturing process defects that could cause product failures in the field. Industry leading performance levels of these CSZ HALT and HASS chambers include temperature ramp rates up to ±100ºC/min with vibration levels of 1.0 to 90 GRMS. Sound levels, liquid nitrogen consumption and power usage are the lowest in the industry offering compelling return on investment opportunities.
Steven J. Berke, President and CEO, said, “The acquisition of HHSC will strengthen CSZ’s position as a leading manufacturer of environmental test equipment by providing customers with a full range of environmental test chambers to improve product reliability. These systems exhibit the design maturity that only years of manufacturing experience combined with the most advanced HALT & HASS techniques can achieve.”
